Car Pool Procedure
ARRIVAL TIME
(doors open at 8:00 am)
8:00 am – 8:15 am
Please ENTER the parking lot directly in front of the school from Armour Street using the first turn into the car pool drop off line (just after the playground).
Once the parking lot/car pool drop off line directly in front of the school is full with cars waiting please do not stop and “wait” on Armour Street. Please proceed into the Parks and Recreation parking lot, lot just before the playground, and line up as an overflow line. The Car Pool line will “wait” in the Parks and Recreation parking lot until there is room to proceed to the lot directly in front of the school. As the line clears proceed on Armour Street and then into the parking lot directly in front of the school.Please do NOT block traffic on Armour Street. The Davdison Police will ticket you if you block the flow of traffic.
The children will be escorted (by school staff/parent volunteers) to and from the vehicle. Please have your child exit from the right side of your vehicle.
Please DO NOT Park and walk your child to the building. (Kindergarten Parents are welcome to walk in with your child the first two school days). However, for late arrival - Please escort your child into the main double doors and sign the child in tardy.
Children will not be released to anyone that is not listed on your initial paperwork that lists approved transporters. If you need to add someone for pickup, please add to your list in writing only as indicated.
DISMISSAL TIME
3:20 pm- 3:30 pm
Please follow the same procedure above for dismissal.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD’S NAME CARD DISPLAYED IN THE WINDOW PRIOR TO YOU REACHING THE BLUE DOORS.
1. Arrive at 3:20pm and begin in the side parking lot
2. Please do not block the entrance to the parking lot.
3. Secondly, when lining up, instead of being bumper to bumper, please leave some space in between every few cars for maneuvering room in case a car needs to get thought the line.
4. Please do not block the back part of the parking lot.
5. NO WAITING on Armour Street as you may be ticketed by the Davidson Police Department.
Car Pool dismissal for the Academy is 3:20 pm- 3:30 pm. Please plan accordingly to ensure prompt pick up of your child(ren.) Any child(ren) picked up after the car pool line has ended after 3:35 will be assessed a fee as follows: ($5 every 5 minutes)
* 3:35 - 3:40 - $5
* 3:41 - 3:45 - $10
* 3:46 - 3:51 - $15
Late payment is due upon pick-up.
If you know you are going to be late, PLEASE call the school and leave a voice message stating you will be late.
Please adhere to the above set of procedures. This will help us keep your child safe and allow for a smooth entrance and exit.
Reminder: Please remember there is no soliciting during car pool.
