Scrip Program
SCRIP is a painless way for McKinney Academy PTA to raise money. Instead of spending cash or checks at your favorite retailer, simply use that money to purchase a SCRIP gift card and redeem it at the same retailer. McKinney PTA purchases the cards from the retailers at a discounted rate and then sells them to you at face value. Then the PTA retains the difference as profit.
Remember, you are already spending this money. A $25 gift card purchase gets you a $25 gift card value to spend in the store that you choose. There is NO selling on your part - only buying cards to use as cash at stores and restaurants you already visit.

The Scrips program is now ready to begin. As a refresher, Scrips is a gift card fundraiser where you buy a specified dollar amount gift card (as per the list provided), you get a gift card for that amount, and the percentage you see is given back to school. You can use the gift cards yourself or give them as gifts. They are just like a regular gift card.
You have 2 ways to order. First, you can do it manually. An order form will be in your child's binder. Whenever you would like to order a gift card or cards, just fill out the form, and add it back to the binder, along with a check to McKinney PTA/PTO for the amount of the gift cards. I will be submitting the orders every Thursday night, so keep that in mind when you order. And you will have your gift card a week later at most; it will be in your child's backpack. The teachers will be looking for the completed forms, and will replace the filled out form with a new form, for the next time you want to order.
Secondly, you can be set up with an online account to do the ordering yourself, through Shopwithscrips.com. Those orders will also be submitted on Thursday evening. But please do not forget to do this, as this is a great, easy way to raise a lot of money, just check out the Scrips website to see examples of the money that can be raised.
And if at any time you would like more information on how much we have raised, where the money is going, etc., please do not hesitate to ask. Note, I will be checking the website regularly and adding new stores, deals as they become available.
