Wellness Lecture - January 26th at 6:30pm
The Wellness Committee is pleased to announce the upcoming Wellness Learning Session entitled - "Reality Check: Raising Your Child With Pure Sexual Values From Preschool-Puberty". The lecture is free, open to the public and will take place at the Academy on January 26th at 6:30pm.
Wellness Lecture - The Biomedical and Educational Approach to Reading and Learning Success
The Academy hosted an informative night as we conducted another “Ask the Expert” session at McKinney Academy. Three panel experts – a pediatrician, an optometrist and an educator contributed their knowledge as it relates to reading and learning success. Audience members learned about topics that affect children’s concentration & learning such as nutrition, vision, vitamin deficiency, sleep disorders, allergies & ADHD.
Mustang Mingle - Salsa Party Day!
McKinney Academy recognizes the important connection between a healthy diet and a student's ability to learn effectively and achieve high standards in school. As a part of the McKinney Academy curricula, the students of McKinney Academy will have a Salsa Party with the vegetables grown in the school's garden.

Wellness Lecture - Bullying

The event is sponsored by The Foundation for Respect Ability. The event and the foundation’s mission is modeled after Operation Respect, a world renowned organization spearheaded by Peter Yarrow of the legendary folk group, Peter, Paul and Mary. The Foundation for Respect Ability intends to offer events and services to address the concerns of parents, educators and students regarding bullying in every form.
Wellness Lecture - John Rosemond
The Academy welcomed John Rosemond on January 18, 2011 to a sold out audience. It was an honor and a privilege to have him at the Academy speaking to the Lake Norman community. John encouraged parents with many words of wisdom. It was a great night of learning and entertainment! Special thanks to Nicole Magryta and the wellness committee for their commitment to providing excellent programs for our students, families, and our community.
